Hi, I’m Brittany!

Soda Bread Studio is my documentary photography practice in New Jersey.

When I say “documentary”, I mean that I show up and shoot what’s actually going on: the kids under the table, the meals as they’re actually eaten, the beauty of your life that deserves to be captured in this moment.

The results are warm, a little filmic, and mercifully free of people pretending to laugh at a joke that was never told. If you're after matching outfits and everyone beaming at the lens, I'm not your person. If you want the real version of your family or your business, that part I'm good at.

My favorite food is cookie dough, and my least favorite photography prompt is “okay now everyone make a silly face”.

In addition to offering photography sessions, I maintain a weekly newsletter that includes recipes, essays, and photography.
